METHOD
Satipatthana Vipassana Kammathana
Our Vipassana meditation courses are taught in the tradition of Theravada Buddhism, according to the teachings of the Most Venerable Phra Prom Mongkol Vi (Ven. Phra Ajarn Tong Sirimangalo), a highly revered Vipassana meditation teacher, who studied with Mahasi Sayadaw and many other great meditation masters of Thailand and Myanmar.
The Vipassana retreat is conducted in Noble Silence, “offline”. This intensive course is all about practice, with a very individual approach closely followed by the teacher. Meditators will practice walking and sitting meditation. Every participant will get a detailed introduction and meet their teacher for discussion and building up of the practice at least once per day. A teacher is, though, available whenever needed.
The meditators are asked to follow the 8 Buddhist precepts, which support the practice by eliminating distractions.
Adhering to Buddhism is neither presumed nor expected from participants in the courses.
